4 cod fillets

1 cup plain yogurt

2 tablespoons tikka masala paste

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon turmeric

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions
 

In a mixing bowl, combine the plain yogurt, tikka masala paste, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground cumin, turmeric, and salt. Mix well to form a marinade.

    Place the cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure that the cod is thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).

      Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).

        If grilling, lightly oil the grill grates. If baking, line a baking tray with parchment paper.

          Remove the cod from the marinade and shake off any excess. Place the fillets directly on the grill or onto the baking tray.

            Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. If baked, check for doneness at around 10-12 minutes, depending on thickness.

              Once cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes.

                Serve the tikka cod hot, garnished with freshly chopped cilantro and lemon wedges on the side.
