Ingredients

4 chicken legs (drumsticks)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.

Season the chicken legs with salt and pepper, then place them in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.

Pour the marinade over the chicken legs, ensuring they are fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to overnight for maximum flavor.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then place the legs on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning the chicken halfway through, until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

For an extra sticky glaze, baste the chicken with the reserved marinade during the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Once cooked, remove the chicken legs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for a burst of flavor and texture.
