Ingredients

8 oz linguine pasta

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

8 oz smoked sausage, sliced (such as andouille or kielbasa)

1 bell pepper, diced (red or yellow)

1 small onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Sausage: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until browned.

Add Vegetables: Add the diced bell pepper, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the skillet, stirring frequently. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Incorporate Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet, cooking until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.

Mix in Tomatoes: Stir in the drained diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.

Combine with Pasta: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet, tossing gently to combine everything thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve: Plate the pasta in bowls and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
