Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)

8 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup diced bell peppers (any color)

1 cup diced onions

2 cups cubed bread (white or whole wheat)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or olive oil.

In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until fully combined.

In the prepared baking dish, layer the cubed bread evenly at the bottom.

Spread the cooked sausage over the bread, followed by a layer of diced bell peppers and onions.

Pour the egg and milk mixture over the entire casserole, ensuring it saturates the layers evenly.

Top with shredded cheddar cheese, sprinkling it across the casserole.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.

Once baked, remove from oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

                    Prep Time: 15 min | Total Time: 50 min | Servings: 6-8

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the casserole warm, garnished with fresh parsley on top. For added flair, slice it into squares and serve on individual plates with a side of fresh fruit or a light salad.
