Ingredients

1 cup almond flour

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 large eggs

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup whole milk

2 tablespoons orange blossom water

Zest of 2 oranges

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup sliced almonds (for topping)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan with non-stick spray or butter, then line the bottom with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until frothy. Then add the melted butter, whole milk, orange blossom water, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top of the batter for added crunch and a nutty flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Before serving, dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar for a lovely finish.
