12 oz spaghetti or linguine

4 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

Zest of 2 lemons

Juice of 1 lemon

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon slices for garnish

Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

    Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

      Combine Ingredients: Add the lemon zest and lemon juice to the skillet, stirring to combine. Toss in the drained pasta, followed by a splash of the reserved pasta water to help create a sauce.

        Add Cheese and Herbs: Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley, tossing everything together until well coated. If the pasta seems too dry, add more reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.

          Season to Taste: Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting based on your preference.

            Serve: Plate the pasta in bowls, garnishing with additional Parmesan, fresh parsley, and lemon slices on the side.
