Ingredients
  

1 pre-made pizza crust (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup ricotta cheese

1 large lemon, zested and juiced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 garlic clove, minced

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) or according to the pizza crust instructions.

    In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until smooth. This will be your lemon ricotta spread.

      Roll out the pizza crust if using homemade dough to a desired thickness. Transfer it onto a baking sheet or pizza stone lined with parchment paper.

        Spread the lemon ricotta mixture evenly across the pizza crust, leaving a small border around the edges.

          Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the ricotta layer.

            Scatter the chopped fresh basil leaves across the cheese, reserving a few for garnish later.

              If using, sprinkle the red pepper flakes on top for added heat.

                Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.

                  Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute.

                    Slice the pizza and garnish with additional fresh basil leaves before serving.
