Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)

1/4 cup honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium)

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)

Chopped green onions for garnish

Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, grated ginger, olive oil, sesame oil, black pepper, and red chili flakes (if using). This will be your marinade and glaze.

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the honey garlic mixture over them. Ensure the fillets are well coated. Let them marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Place the marinated salmon fillets on the baking sheet, skin side down.

Reserve the other half of the honey garlic mixture for glazing.

Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

In the last 5 minutes of baking, brush the reserved honey garlic mixture over each fillet for added flavor as it caramelizes.

Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.

Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with lemon wedges on the side for an added zing.
