Ingredients

4 slices of sourdough bread

3 tablespoons truffle butter (softened)

2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon freshly grated truffle (optional, for garnish)

Sea salt to taste

Cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Take 2 slices of sourdough bread; spread 1 tablespoon of truffle butter on one side of each slice.

Place one slice of bread butter-side down in the skillet.

Evenly sprinkle half the Gruyère and mozzarella cheese over the bread in the skillet.

Add the second slice of bread, butter-side up, and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Carefully flip the sandwich with a spatula and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the other side is golden.

Remove from skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.

Repeat the process with the remaining bread and cheese to make a second sandwich.

If desired, sprinkle freshly grated truffle on top of the grilled cheese and season with sea salt and cracked black pepper for an extra layer of flavor.

                    Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 20 minutes | Servings: 2

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the grilled cheese sandwiches on a wooden cutting board, cut diagonally, with a small bowl of truffle aioli or a side salad for contrast. Garnish with fresh herbs for a pop of color!
