Ingredients

4 large apples, peeled and sliced

300g rhubarb, diced

100g granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

200g all-purpose flour

100g rolled oats

150g unsalted butter, cold and cubed

50g brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, diced rhubarb, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly, making sure the fruit is coated in sugar and juice to prevent browning. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix well to combine all dry ingredients.

Add the cold cubed butter to the dry mixture. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. This creates the crumble topping.

In a greased baking dish (approximately 9x13 inches), layer the fruit mixture evenly on the bottom.

Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the fruit mixture, ensuring it's evenly covered.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

                    - Presentation Tips: Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on the side for an inviting, elegant touch. A sprinkle of extra cinnamon or a few fresh mint leaves can elevate the visual appeal.
