Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¾ cup milk

½ cup cinnamon-sugar (for topping)

1 cup whipped cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a standard muffin tin with paper liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients in three additions, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined; do not overmix.

Divide the cupcake batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cupcakes are cool, dip the tops lightly in cinnamon-sugar mixture and top with generous dollops of whipped cream cheese frosting.

Optional: Drizzle any remaining cinnamon-sugar over the frosted cupcakes for added sweetness and presentation.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 12 cupcakes
