3 ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.

      Stir in the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well combined.

        Add brown sugar and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth.

          Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until thoroughly combined.

            In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, folding gently until just combined. Do not overmix!

              Carefully fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, if using.

                Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.

                  Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

                    Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
