Ingredients

2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved

4 cups water, divided

2 tablespoons lime juice (about 1 lime)

2-3 tablespoons agave syrup (or to taste)

A pinch of salt

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Begin by placing the pitted and halved cherries in a blender.

Add 2 cups of water to the blender with the cherries. Blend on high speed until smooth.

Once blended, pour the cherry mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher, discarding the solids. You should be left with a beautiful cherry juice.

To the pitcher, add the remaining 2 cups of water, lime juice, agave syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to combine all the flavors.

Taste your agua fresca and adjust sweetness with more agave syrup if desired, or add more lime juice for extra tang.

Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve over ice in glasses, garnished with fresh mint leaves if you like a refreshing touch.
