Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1 cup brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup chocolate chips (or nuts, if preferred)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to lift the blondies out after baking.

Brown the Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the butter turns golden brown and smells nutty, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it. Once browned, remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix Sugars and Eggs: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. (Do not overmix!) Gently fold in the chocolate chips.

Bake: Pour the blondie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet).

Cool and Serve: Allow the blondies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Let them cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 16 squares

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the blondies warm, dusted with powdered sugar on top, and pair them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an added touch of indulgence!
